Traffic difficulties 2-4 July

We may expect serious traffic difficulties due to the upcoming meeting of various foreign ministers. The 10th anniversary of the Community of Democracies takes place in Kraków between the 2nd and the 4th of July.
"It is a prestigious occasion, but it will create some difficulties for both residents and tourists." - said Adam Młot, Kraków's President's Mass-event Commissioner during his press conference. He stressed that restrictions will also effect pedestrians - there will be places with a gathering ban.
First restrictions will appear already on thursday, 1st of July. "From 4 pm there won't be any car access to the Powiśle St. From friday (the 2nd) till sunday (the 4th) it will be forbidden to stop right next to certain hotels: Radisson Sas (Zwierzyniecka and Straszewskiego St), Copernicus (Kanonicza), Holiday Inn (Wielopole) and Grand Hotel (Sławkowska)".
The same rules will apply starting from thursday the 1st at 4 pm in respect to the parking in front of the PKP (Polish National Trains) building near the Mogilskie Roundabout. From friday till sunday the same will apply to the Ariańska, Borowiecka, Lubicz and Topolowa St. During this period, also parts of Topolwa and Borowiecka St will be off-limits to car traffic. Extra parking places for local residents will be provided along the Lubomirskiego St.
The harshest restrictions are to be expected on saturday, the 3rd. From 11 am there will be no stopping or parking in the following streets: św Tomasza, Szczepański square, Szczepańska, Jagiellońska and Szpitalna (the part between Basztowa and św Marka). Earlier, already at 6 am, the same rule will apply to the part of that street between św Marka and Mikołajska.
From 2 pm the Szczepańska and Jageillońska st will be closed to car traffic. In Szpitalna st the same rule will apply from 8 am.
From 6 pm on friday until midnight on saturday, the TAXI parking spot on św Ducha square will be closed. In addition, the stop for taxi's, golf cars and carriages on the Szczepański square will be closed from 4 pm on saturday. The carriages will not be permitted on Mały Rynek throughout the whole saturday.
Temporary disruptions in traffic might occur on the route to the airport as well as the following streets: Mirowska, Księcia Józefa, Kościuszki and Zwierzyniecka. "We are not considering a full close-down of that route, but due to the diplomatic car-columns, the regular traffic may be temporarily stopped."
In the places affected, we can rely on help of the City Guard officers. "The officers will inform about the changes. Those who will not obey the restrictions may receive a fine"
