Welcome to Free Walking Tour

The main idea behind our project is to create such a tour in which we would like to be tourists ourselves. The basic difference is that it is You who decides on the cost. We are well aware of the fact that if somebody will not like our tour or simply won’t have any money, that becomes in fact a free tour. But if our clients enjoyed it and think that the idea is welcome, then all support is very much welcome, as, besides doing it out of pure passion, we also have to pay all the taxes, social security and the such, not mentioning a small bite now and again. ;)
In other words, all You may actually lose with us, is Your time! We are also fully aware that the tips we receive are the best feedback we can get about the quality of our tours, so we know if we’re going in the right direction or took a wrong turn somewhere along the way.

Of course, we are not the only such project, such an idea is very popular in Western Europe, e.g. in London, Edinburgh, Berlin, Paris, etc. But there is one huge difference between those tours and ours. According to the Polish law, there are ten cities (Krakow among them), where You can guide only having a license. To get it, one has to complete a one-year course (about 2 500 z³/500 pounds), passed all the internal exams during the course (around 15) and after that a 3-day long state exam, comprised of the written, oral and practical parts. The level of difficulty is best exemplified through my own experience – out of 40 people who began the course, only 5 passed the state exam and that was considered a very good result. Luckily, I was one of them and became the licensed tour guide of the Royal Capital City of Krakow, to guide YOU! :)

I have just come back from Krakow and happened upon a tour in the Jewish Quarter which also took in the ghetto. I and the two others I was with were really impressed. Informative, engaging and carismatic guides who know and love their city. Would highly recommend.

Hi. I plan to go to Krakow with my agedmother in law in early May. We would love to go on this walking tour. For ease in traveling, however, she uses a wheelchair. Will this not be a problem? Looking forward to an early response. Thank you.

It is possible to use wheelchair on our tours. A few people on Royal Kraków tour already did it. However Royal Kraków is easier (eventhough we go up on the hill) than Jewish Kraków where the distance is longer and we cross the river as well.
