Visit Kraków with us
If You’re still hesitating, why You should visit Krakow of all the cities, this article is especially for You!
According to the poll in The Guardian, in which 17.000 people voted, Krakow was proclaimed the second most interesting city in the world in 2008!
What is more, both the Old Town of Krakow and the Kazimierz District were on the first list created by UNESCO among only 12 sites from all over the world.
So what is so unique about Krakow and why is it worth visiting?
First of all, Krakow for a long time wasn’t discovered by international tourists, but the growing trend to visit Central Europe, Poland joining the EU and also the fact the Steven Spielberg’s “Schindler’s List” was shot in Krakow, gave the city an opportunity to regain its former glory and prestige.
The golden age of Krakow coincides with the golden age of Poland itself in the XVIth century, when the city was the capital of the largest and one of the most powerful empires in Europe!
The aim of our Free Walking Tour is to show You Krakow in a nutshell. You will see the most important site and monuments, such as:
-medieval city walls
-St Mary’s Church
-Main Market Square
-John Paul II sites
-the Wawel castle and cathedral
-the „Schindler’s List” sites
-Kazimierz, the former Jewish quarter,
Of course, there’s a huge difference between the words „see” and „visit”. That’s why during the tour we do our very best to give You not only the basic information, but also curious details You will not find in guidebooks. Instead of a hermetic, historical tour-guide jargon, we try to make You feel the medieval spirit of the Old Town. Furthermore, You should not feel embarrassed to ask a question – quite the opposite, all questions are very much welcome!
Finally, at the end of the tour, when we show You on the map all the places You have seen, You may sit down with us and ask everything You want to know about our beautiful city. We will provide You with a map, pointing out the best places for food (lots, good & cheap!), drink and party, as well as interesting museums and galleries; and any other thing You might want to know.
So, if You want to see Krakow, do it with us! What have You got to lose? Well, the only thing You’ll lose for sure is some calories, as our tour lasts around 3 hours, but might take longer... After all, it’s a Free WALKING Tour!
