3/4 Three creative days

16 Feb 2010 Pawel Mrozowicz
Second day morning started with succesfull negotiation.

I booked the tour in English in Auschwitz for 57 people only one day in advance, and found a coach for 59 people so everything supposed to go fine!

A trip to the Salt Mine was supposed to be cheap. So we took public bus no 304 to Wieliczka. Checked before with the city transportation company if it is possible to transport 57 people by this bus and the answer was yes...

We have an expert with us - Krzysztof who is member of our team and tour guide in the Salt Mine as well. So finally 3rd Feb afternoon about 57 people were ready to go to the Salt Mine waiting at 304 bus stop...

But of course as Murphy's law says "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong for sure" And it went wrong, ticket machine in the bus was broken, so we hade to wait until they fixed it which meant about 20 minutes of delay. Furthermore 57 people staying outside during snow and next to scaried local people who wanted to take the same bus...

Finally we got the bus, and situation inside was very ... integrating! :) On the way to the Salt Mine I've heard one of students commenting the previous day tour. In his opinion it was a good tour, but he didn't like the idea of filling in the questionaire afterwards. In his opinion this test should be voluntary. Actually he made it voluntary cause he didn't fill it in.

On the one hand the whole situation was ideal for psychologist (who I'll hopefully be next year), cause I get straight and honest feedback, on the other hand it was like sketch from The Griswold Family comedy. Cause I turned and answered: that I'm very sorry to bother You with my questionaire, and very thankfull for the feedback as we should add to the instruction that questionaire is of course volountary. :)

So we've visited the Salt Mine and actually after tour but before we caught bus back to Krakow... It's turned out that the idea of my briefcase to be waterproof wasn't so stupid as shop assistant thought. Because big snowballs battle took place, so all my briefcase was covered with snow, but luckilly the content was safe. :)

As we reached Krakow we got off the bus and came straight to the Main Market Square. Where I showed some good places to eat as well. So the tour to Wieliczka was really cheap but in my opinion not so comfortable with so many people in one bus.

Interesting was also conversation which I got into with Malaysian members of the group. Conversation was about the only Malaysian movie that I've seen "Sepet" . Which in my opinion is like Malaysian Romeo and Juliet. Romeo instead of being from Montagues family is from discriminated Chineese minority, Juliet instead from Capulet family is from Malaysian majority.

As I came back home I could finally start preparing for to the Auschwitz tour...

To be continued...
