16th April 2010 10th anniversary of openning war cemetries in Katyń, Miednoje, Charków
On the 16th, by the Katyń Cross on the Adam Studziński Sq, celebration takes place comemorating the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Polish War Cemetaries in Katyń, Kharkov and Miednoye, organised by the Association of the Families of the Victims of Katyń for Southern Poland. The President of Kraków, Jacek Majchrowski, is the patron of the event.
The celebrations starts at 16.45. In the programme: the "Katyń 1940" exhibition comemorating the 70th anniversary of the Katyń Crime, organized by the Katyń Families, in cooperation with Museum of Photography and the Council of Kraków, leaving of flowers and lighting of candles by the Katyń Cross.

Exhibition "Katyń 1940" is comprised of boards showing the history of the Katyń Crime, one of the greatest tragedies of the XXth century. Visitors can see authentic materials - press ads, biographies, photos from the exhumation documenting the responsibility of the Soviet government for that crime.
The last part of the celebrations is a Mass at 6 pm for the Victims of the Katyń Crime in the Garrison Church of St Agnes.
