Pawel did just great! I've read through comments here and I'd like to disagree that 3 hours's too long. It's definitely not, I'd love to walk even more) And since you announce the lenth of tour in advance (may be it's better to write it in capital letters somewhere?dunno) people can prepare for that! what is really a good comment - you'd better announce in the beggining of the tour that you're only working for tips so you're going to do your best and if people enjoy it, they will show it with their tips! everything else was just excellent - entertaining, clearly explained and articulated.)

How fortunate that yesterday my friend and I (Grant, also commented) saw the "Free Walking Tour" sign. Having nothing to loose and not much else to do, we walked along with the group. Turns our this was the best decision we made all day! Paweł thank you for your interesting, comprehensive and colorful tour! You made it informative and funny and it was a pleasure to be on your tour! Thank you for all the additional information that you gave us too! You made our day, and being the last day in Krakow, it was very memorable! Thanks again Paweł, in Australia we call you a Top Bloke!

My fiancee and I were in Krakow on the weekend and yesterday, Sunday 17th January, we did the free walking tour. While I can't correctly spell the young lady's name, we had the most fantastic tour guide. She was young, friendly, personable and most of all she was passionate about Krakow and about Poland and this shone through. We were totally engrossed in her stories and were hanging on every word. As it was a small group, she answered all of our questions and made some fantastic recommendations on other parts of Krakow and Poland. She is an asset to your company and a great advocate of tourism, Krakow and Poland. I would thoroughly recommend the free walking tour and this particular guide, she really did make our trip to Krakow and we have come away with a much greater understanding and having learnt a lot. I hope everyone tipped her generously as she was brilliant! Thanks for a wonderful tour and offering a fantastic service, I will definitely be back in Krakow.

We were even suggested some great places to go for dinner and drinks later that night! Overall - 100% informative and ENJOYABLE! We highly recommend this tour!

Fantastic tour with Pawel. It was a miserable day in Krakow but he made it fun for us all and kept us interested. He was able to answer everyones questions which was reallly good, much better than some of the sandemans tours in other european cities. Only thing it that is was maybe a little long but maybe only because it was cold and wet. Thanks Pawel

Excellent tour and a great way to get to know a beautiful city like Krakow on a budget! The guide was so good I went on another the next day. However, a few comments (from another guide) 1. Do not let the tours go on for more than 2 hours unless there is a break. You can add more specific tours rather than have longer ones. 2. Why not pop into a bar or cheap restaurant for a local snack, especially around lunchtime (on a long tour one needs a break!)Most tourists would welcome a local tipple or snack as would the bar/restaurant and both you and the venue could benefit financially! 3. Somehow include the words 'This tour is free, but we would welcome a tip if you have enjoyed it' at the end. It was far too vague and I felt sorry for the guide who should have done better in tips! Good luck to my guides Pavel and Peter!

This is a warning to all who visit Krakow to take no other tour of the city but the Free Walking Tour. Chris explained, with good humour, the city's history, ancient and recent, from our start outside St Mary's Church (Mariacki), through its cobbled streets, back to the wonderful central square, to the Cathedral, and on to Kaziemerz, former home of the Jews. Good on architecture and Pope John Paul. An amiable but well informed way to start our four days in this historic town, so we were well equipped to visit Auschwitz, the salt mine and Tarnow. We ended with a drink in a (Polish) pub. The tour is free, but we felt Chris deserved a decent financial thank you for his efforts. We saw Chris the next day at the salt mine, guiding a group through the walkways. Sadly, no time to go on their other tours. Denis and Patty, London

We bumbed in to Maciek and is Free tour by accident when we were near the Foriana Gate. We just heard a little bit of is presentation and despite wanting to explore the city on our own, we stayed as we loved the way he was explaining the history of the town. He was our Krakow Mythbuster and we learned a lot more than we would by reading any books about Krakow. The tour lasted more than four hours but we had so much fun that it passed so fast that we barely even noticed. All the best for you guys. The guides are animated and genuinely interested in their beautiful city. The unoffical tour is even better, it was fun drinking and socialising with other tourists and Maciek. And Pawel, although we did not have a tour with you, drinking and going to club was very memorable... you have the best dance moves in all of Krakow! Thank you for showing me the city, it was definatly one of the highlights of my trip.

We came across Maciek and the group he'd aleady collected in the middle of their tour and we immediately took to the whole story-telling thing. We enjoyed the young guide's sense of humour, his true interest in history and the fact that we were being showed around by a licensed guide (got fed up with reading guidebooks). We felt we couldn't miss the chance to come the next day to listen to the first part of the tour. It was a pity we lacked time to do the afternoon tour as we'd arranged to go to Auschwitz but... next time we're in Kraków, we know what we must put in our schedule.

It was the most tourist oriented visit I have ever seen. No rushing, no clockwise thinking. Smooth, funny and informative. Everything was included: something to watch, listen, eat or drink A great tour for everybody regardless of age. We were taken to all landmarks of Kraków, also we were told what we can see in each of the building, museums, or synagogues. The tour is great for those who are in Kraków only for one day – as they will get all in a nutshell. Yet, if you are to stay in Kraków for longer – you can use this trip as an excellent preface to next days. Guides will help you to design the next days of your stay – they will help you in finding what you really like: beer, food, dance, classic music or shopping I highly recommend the Polish people to go on this tour as there is no Polish equivalent of the tour. Also, it is so fun to listen to the legends you know by heart in English for a change. Once again, I highly recommend the tour even for those who are Polish or for those who think they know Krakow well. The atmosphere is so great that it is still worth of joining them. So join the best tourist guides and have fun!

Great, great, great! I ran into them the day before and from the little I heard then knew I wanted to start from the beginning. I saw everything there is to see in Krakow today and got some background and great stories about everything. This was really the best way to see Krakow - not those silly carts with the taped tour! We could ask any questions and they personalized it to us. Now I have a whole extra day to do other things, and that was another bonus, when the tour was over they invited us to have a beer with them and asked us each what else we wanted to do, what kind of food to eat, etc. and made us each a map with the things we wanted written on it.

It was a very intresting tour and the guides were really helpful and educated. They help us to find places the guidebook couldnt help us with. And like we say in Sweden, 4 of 5 toasters

The free walking tour was awesome, people should pay more for it than the other tours! The 2 young, laidback guides were willing to take us anywhere we wanted along with all the designated stops.

The tour was great! :) I have been in Krakow before, but i joined the tour anyway and saw much more than before. It was really interesting, the guide kept all my attention with interesting history facts and stories all the time, and showed interesting places what i couldnt see in ordinary tour. It is very original idea about this kind of a tour and you should try it! And the best i liked is that people who organizes this tour love their job and it is nice to have such a company in Krakow! Many, many thanks! ;)

We (me and 3 friends) joined up with a free tour and absolutly enjoyed it. It was fun, interesting and I would recommend it to everyone that likes to explore Krakow on a easygoing way but still wants to learn a lot about the city. Groetjes, Katleen
