About

Kraków’s Old Town survived the Second World War, so you’re able to feel the ambiance of the days when it used to be the capital of Europe’s largest country. Come join us for a tour around a city that hasn’t changed much since the Middle Ages to find out why it was included on the first-ever UNESCO Heritage List!

We will show you where to look to find traces of the city in its heyday in the 15th and 16th centuries, when Copernicus himself walked these streets. These were the days when Kraków teemed with the sounds of many different languages, colourful clothing and exotic goods, and people from around the world who came here seeking their fortune. But the roller-coaster of history never missed the royal city, and its days of wealth and prosperity turned to times of collapse and decline. The most recent tragedy of World War II and the hopelessness of communism are something you can still feel roiling under the seemingly calm and peaceful surface of contemporary Kraków. It was also during this dark time that Kraków was home to a young man who later changed the fate of Poland and the world. His name was Karol Wojtyła, better known as Pope John Paul II.

Like every good story, Kraków’s should have a happy ending, right? The city today will surely provide one! Join us and be ready to watch, touch, listen, smell and taste. You will definitely need all of your senses to discover Kraków!

On this 2h 30 minutes’ FREE Walkative! TOUR you will see:

  • medieval city walls and Barbican

  • Main Market Square with Cloth Hall

  • St Mary’s church with its famous trumpeter

  • Collegium Maius, the oldest building of the oldest university in Poland

  • Archbishop Palace and “papal window”

  • Wawel Hill with the Cathedral and Castle’s courtyard

  • Wawel’s Dragon

  • and much more…!

After visiting the Old Town we recommend taking Jewish Kraków and World War II in Kraków free tours to understand Kraków’s history better!

Max fue el encargado de guiarnos por la ciudad de Cracovia… ¡y no pudo hacerlo mejor! La pasión, los conocimientos y la cercanía de Max, hicieron que el tiempo volase y nuestro conocimiento de Cracovia aumentase. Tremendamente recomendado.

We were blown away by this tour by Tomascz (Big Tom) today. He was so passionate and really painted us a full picture of the history and culture of Krakow as well as telling us stories and myths of the city. He also gave us great helpful tips for other tours and things to do. We loved how he built connections between all the people taking the tour and really made us feel welcome to his city. It was the best way to get an introduction and taste of the city on our first day. Thank you again!

We booked to go on the Old Town Kraków tour. Tomascz was our guide…he was so good, so knowledgeable, so entertaining, such a good storyteller, and so passionate that we couldn’t fail to learn stuff and enjoy the tour. It was so good that we booked to go on the Jewish Kraków tour with him too! We were not disappointed – obviously there is a very dark side to this tour. It was amazing how Tomascz told the history weaving clever ‘human’ stories into the whole tale. Brilliant stuff thank you!

Lucy made us travel through time… She had a lot of knowledge, deep knowledge about old and new times. I liked her perspective, her humour and expressiveness. The tour was very interesting and I highly recommend it!
