The history of Wroclaw is very long and complex – 5 different nations and cultures built this city for centuries. So is the culinary tradition of our city.
The biggest impact on our culinary traditions in the modern time had two countries – Germany and Poland.Therefore we would like to invite you to a unique food tasting, which connects both – prewar German and postwar Polish cuisine. Traditional dishes and unusual combinations of flavours create an extraordinary introduction to the culinary heritage of the city.
The food is an important part of the culture and that’s why this tour is a perfect extension of the Old Town tour we provide every single day. The combination of the dishes and stories we will share with you is absolutely unique and you cannot find it in any other Polish city. In fact Krakow and Warsaw are a bit jealous of our tour.
In order you can focus on the enjoyment connected with the food and amazing stories we decided to organize the tour in one restaurant. There is no rush and plenty of time to share our passion to the food and traditions of the Silesia province. 6 dishes and two alcohol samples are more than enough to end up the tour full and satisfied.
During the tour you will taste:
- hekele (germ. Häckerle) – herring dish
- Silesian dumplings with sweet sauce
- bigos – two kinds: wrocławski (typical for the city before the war; a stew made of red cabbage, meat apples and raisins) and staropolski – a dishes of finely chopped meat of various kinds stewed with sauerkraut and shredded fresh cabbage
- żurek wrocławski – sour soup
- pierogi ruskie
- beer Schops (100ml)
- vodka Baczewski shot (30ml)
