About the tour

When the sun softens over the Côte d’Azur, Nice glows: façades blush pink, the sea turns to glass, and the evening breeze carries salt, citrus, and a hint of flowers. This is the hour when stories tend to land softly. Our evening walk blends the city’s most charming corners with a generous dose of history, surprising facts, and playful anecdotes — letting Nice unfold in color, sound, and light.
Nice has always stood between worlds. Founded by the Greeks as Nikaia, shaped by Rome, ruled by the Dukes of Savoy, and finally joined to France in 1860, it carries both Italian warmth and French elegance. The streets of the old town twist like the language itself — part Provençal, part Ligurian, all Mediterranean. Revolutionaries, merchants, and dreamers left their mark in its stones, and artists like Matisse and Chagall came here chasing its light. On this tour, you’ll trace these layers through the city’s heart — from sunlit squares and seaside boulevards to medieval lanes where faith, beauty, and mischief have always mingled.
We begin at Place Masséna, where old and new Nice converge around the bold Fountain du Soleil and its radiant Apollo. Then we stroll the Promenade des Anglais, with its miniature Statue of Liberty and tales of Belle Époque grandeur, English aristocrats, and the rise of the Riviera myth. Above us, Castle Hill watches over centuries of stories — from ancient battles to modern celebrations. Our path then turns into Cours Saleya, Nice’s colorful food and flower market, still fragrant after day’s end. Here stand the Palais of the Prefecture and the house of Adam and Eve, keepers of curious local legend. Deeper into the old town, the mood shifts to medieval: the Ancient Senate, the old prison, and Rue du Malonat, the first paved street in Nice and home to its once-official executioner. We’ll pass the Palais de Justice, scene of the daring 1976 “bank heist of the century” by Albert Spaggiari, then step through the Porte Fausse into Place Rossetti, where the Cathedral of Sainte Réparate glows with Baroque splendor. We’ll see Rue Droite and the ornate Palais Lascaris, before uncovering a cannonball from the 1543 siege — a relic of Catherine Ségurane, Nice’s legendary heroine. Our walk ends at Place Garibaldi, where cafés spill into the square and the city hums with evening life — the perfect place for a sunset apéritif.
Join us for an evening walk when Nice slows, softens, and shines. As daylight fades, the sea mirrors the sky, and every story feels more colorful. Walk with us through the golden hour — and discover how Nice keeps its light and spins its tale long after the sun goes down.
