Wrocław's Islands and Bridges: Evening Walking Tour

Evening tour of Wrocław’s riverfront: we follow the Oder River through the city centre, exploring its islands and bridges, watch the lamplighter ignite the gas lamps on Cathedral Island, and hear how historic floods shaped the city. Stops include Odrzańska/Kuźnicza Str., the University/Pomorski Bridge, and Słodowa and Piasek Islands.

About the tour


Called by some the “Venice of the North”, settled on Odra River, Wrocław is a city of more than 100 bridges and 21 islands. Take an evening stroll with us past amazingly illuminated architecture along the river banks. Walk through the most picturesque areas in the city center and witness the unique ritual of lighting vintage lamps, just as it was done in the old days.

Enjoy the enchanting atmosphere, relax and listen to stories and such of how nature can shape the fate of the city, learn about the biggest flood in modern history that happened just over two decades ago.
