About Alessio
Hi, I'm Alessio, originally from Italy. A degree in International Film Studies first brought me to Barcelona twelve years ago, and the city's laid-back lifestyle and endless cultural offerings convinced me to move here permanently a couple of years later. I have now been guiding for nine years, and I have been showing visitors around with Walkative! since 2026. My favorite route to lead is the Welcome to Barcelona tour, which combines the wild history of the Gothic Quarter with the genius of Gaudí's Casa Batlló. Seeing my guests' reactions in front of that building is a constant highlight of the job.
What interests me most about Barcelona is how easily you can switch from centuries of history to relaxing on a sunny terrace. My favorite local ritual is climbing Montjuïc for a beer or vermouth at sunset before heading down to Mercat de Sant Antoni for a bite to eat. Outside of guiding, cinema remains a major part of my life; I co-founded a non-profit music video festival in Italy, work occasionally as a VJ, and consider Mad Max: Fury Road to be the film of the century. When I am not working, you will usually find me traveling, watching football, or simply looking for the next good meal.
