Birgit
Servus! My name is Birgit, and I’m a native of Munich. Although I originally trained as a teacher, I spent more than thirty years working as a flight attendant, seeing many parts of the world. I began guiding with Walkative! in 2025, and what I enjoy most is helping visitors feel connected to my hometown. It is rewarding to share what makes our city tick and, in return, learn a little about where my guests come from.
On my tours, I enjoy discussing everything from the stories of our 'fairytale king' Ludwig II to the hearty local food that reflects our down-to-earth culture. I also think it is important to cover Munich’s more difficult 20th-century history, including the Third Reich and the city's remarkable recovery after 1945. When I'm not guiding, my main interests are history and hiking, and I enjoy spending time with my two children. My musical taste ended up somewhere between ABBA and Michael Jackson, and I also follow the series Bridgerton.
