My name is Daniel, and I'm originally from Dublin, with both Irish and American roots. I first began guiding back in 2012 in Rome, where I led tours through the Forum, the Colosseum, and the Vatican. After a break working as an interpreter in Sydney, I moved to Paris in 2015 and have been a guide here ever since, joining the Walkative team in 2025. I enjoy this work because it allows me to use my university studies in ancient history and to have interesting conversations with people every day.

I particularly enjoy tours focused on Gothic architecture, like those around Notre Dame, because I love explaining its history and how it has endured. It's a powerful symbol of the city's resilience, which is captured in its Latin motto: 'She is tossed by the waves but does not sink.' For me, this perfectly describes Paris as a city that is constantly evolving. Outside of guiding, I'm an avid reader of history and a keen long-distance walker; I’ve completed the Camino de Santiago three times and am hoping to walk it again, starting right from Paris.
