Hello, I'm Duarte. Though I'm originally from Lisbon, I've been guiding visitors on and off for about a decade. I actually studied business administration, but I've always been more of a humanities person, drawn to history, art, and culture. After working as a guide in Berlin for four years, I made my way to Madrid and have been leading tours here with Walkative since 2024.

What I love most about Madrid is its social energy; it’s a city that truly never sleeps and has an atmosphere I find unbeatable. While the Welcome Tour showcases the city’s incredible beauty, my favorite subject is 20th-century history, an interest that began with an inspiring teacher I had as a teenager. When I'm not guiding, my main activity is music—I play guitar and bass, and I’m part of a local band here in Madrid. I also love to read, so I always have a book close by.
