Ela
Hi, I am Ela. Although I was born in the Tatra mountains in southern Poland, I moved to Krakow for my university studies and quickly decided to make it my home. I have been working as a licensed guide for fifteen years, and I have been showing visitors around with Walkative! since 2016. My academic background is in Spanish philology and journalism, and I still work as a translator and a high school teacher. I enjoy drawing on these different disciplines when I guide, often focusing on quiet locations to share the cultural side of the city.
When it comes to history, I am drawn to the more difficult chapters of our past, making the Schindler’s Factory route my favorite tour to lead. Discussing World War II prompts thoughtful reflection on the human condition and offers visitors a clearer understanding of the Polish mentality. Outside of guiding and teaching, my daily life revolves around raising my three young children and encouraging their interest in reading and mathematics. Whenever I find a spare moment, I enjoy listening to hard rock, reading Spanish literature, or sitting down for a board game with my family.
