I’m Raj, a photographer and storyteller originally from Mumbai who has called Paris home for nearly a decade. I moved here to study documentary photography, a practice that trained my eye to see the gestures, light, and fragments of stories that often go unnoticed in a city. This way of seeing is what led me to guiding; I see a street as a layered narrative, not just a set of facts. I’ve enjoyed helping travellers discover these layers and creating a shared space for curiosity with Walkative since 2023.

What I find most beautiful about Paris is the way it rewards attention, revealing itself slowly in the quiet moments between famous landmarks. On my tours, whether in my home neighborhood of Montmartre or the historic Latin Quarter, I enjoy exploring the city's complex relationship with art, literature, and intellectual life. When I’m not guiding, my time is spent much the same way: walking without a destination, working on photography projects, and observing the city from its many cafés.
