My name is Paweł, and as a history and journalism graduate, I’ve always been drawn to uncovering and sharing city's stories. I began guiding with Walkative back in 2016, and I see my role as a way to connect my academic background with a genuine interest of bringing people closer by explaining the place I live from my personal perspective. For me, guiding is more than just a job; even if it sounds as a cliche, it is really kind of a mission to let you experience the city, not just listen about it.

While Krakow has countless fascinating chapters, I'm especially drawn to the history of the Nowa Huta district - that is one of the reason why I finally settled down there. It's a powerful story about how its first inhabitants arrived in a planned, imperfect city and slowly transformed it into a genuine community for themselves. When I’m not leading tours, my time is mostly spent with my family. We often go on long bicycle trips together since Polish nature has so much to offer! I fell in love with this way of travelling years ago - for instance, I made my own trip from Poland to Crimea Peninsula on a bicycle with a tent, just cycling 1400 km from home to the shores of the Black Sea. Feel also free to talk to me about homebrewing, that was one of my greatest hobbies and even helped me in my biggest contribution to Walkative - I created a few special edition beers for my fellow Walkative guides, which definitely helped the crew during long cold winter evenings.
