My name is Clemens, and my academic background in history and art history has deeply shaped how I see the world. I became a tour guide because it allows me to combine my academic interests with an enthusiasm for communication and personal interaction. For me, guiding is not simply reciting a list of dates and facts, but rather creating a connection between visitors and the places they explore. I thoroughly enjoy meeting people from different countries, learning from their perspectives, and adapting my explanations to match their backgrounds. It is incredibly rewarding to bring historical subjects to life and make them accessible for whoever is walking with me.

Dresden is a city defined by a complex history and remarkable architecture, alongside profound periods of destruction, change, and renewal. I find it fascinating to introduce visitors to all these different aspects, helping them understand the city well beyond its most prominent sights. On my tours, I particularly enjoy discussing how the past continues to influence the present, whether we are examining a historic building, a notable personality, or an everyday detail of urban life. When I am not actively guiding, my focus remains on my ongoing education in history and art, exploring how human ideas and cultural traditions are expressed visually.
