Dina
Hi, my name is Dina, and I’ve been working as a tour guide for the past six years. I actually started almost by chance, but what started as an unexpected opportunity quickly became one of the greatest passions of my life. Over the years, I’ve also had the opportunity to guide in different cities, including Madrid and Valencia, which has given me a broader perspective on history, culture, and the different ways people experience places even within the same country. What I love most about guiding is that it brings together so many things that naturally define me: languages, history, art, travel, and connecting with people.
I’m a very outgoing, curious, and energetic person, so this job feels incredibly natural to me. I speak four languages, English, Spanish, French, and Arabic and being able to connect with travelers in their own language is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Language creates trust and genuine connection, and for me, guiding has always been about much more than simply sharing information.
I’m also an artist, I paint, and I think that has deeply shaped the way I experience museums, architecture, and history. Art has taught me to pay attention to detail and to think about the emotions, stories, and intentions behind what I’m seeing. I also naturally love research, so one of my favourite parts of this job is that there is always something new to learn, discover, and dive deeper into.
I like my tours to feel much more like conversations than lectures. Of course, I love history and storytelling, but I also want people to laugh, ask questions, share their own experiences, and leave feeling like they’ve had a real experience rather than just listened to facts. I’m also a huge foodie and love cooking, so I take recommendations very seriously. And because I’m definitely a Type A planner who never travels without a detailed itinerary, I’m always happy to help guests figure out where to go, what to do, and how to make the most of their trip.
Outside of work, I love hiking, swimming, snorkeling, diving, and spending time in nature. I also have a dog that I absolutely adore and take with me whenever possible, so if you’re lucky, you might even meet my assistant guide.
At the end of the day, what I love most about guiding is creating connection: between people and places, history and the present, and travelers from all over the world. For me, this is not just a job, it’s something I genuinely love, and I hope that passion comes through in every experience I create.
