James
My name is James, and although I've lived in other parts of the UK, Greece, and China, London's gravitational pull always brings me back home. Becoming a guide was a transformative experience for me, as I love meeting people from around the world and seeing the city again through their eyes. A guest's simple question or observation can completely change how I think about a place I've known my whole life. Since joining the Walkative! team in 2024, I've enjoyed every opportunity to bring London's layered history to life for our visitors.
I'm most fascinated by how London constantly reinvents itself, with neighbourhoods rising, falling, and transforming over time. On my tours, I try to make the city’s vast history feel more tangible by focusing on the stories of ordinary people and the forgotten corners that survived centuries of change. I'm not a historian; I’m just someone who enjoys sharing the stories and contradictions of a city I'm still trying to understand. When I'm not guiding, you might find me watching the sun set from Waterloo Bridge, exploring Brick Lane on a Sunday, or seeking out one of Soho's many jazz clubs.
