Maggie
My name is Maggie, and I was originally born in the small town of Stockbridge in Western Massachusetts. I first visited Berlin as a high school exchange student in 1999 and immediately felt a strong connection to the German capital. After returning repeatedly for summers, I finally moved here permanently in 2004. I have been leading tours in Berlin for over two decades, a role I continue simply because I genuinely love the work, and I began guiding with Walkative! in 2025.
What fascinates me most about Berlin is its continuous capacity to reinvent itself by taking accountability for its difficult history. The city integrates its past rather than ignoring it to build an open, tolerant, and safe environment, and this integrity is something I often highlight on my routes. One of my favorite spots to discuss is the East Side Gallery, as it visually captures hope for a better future through the international perspectives of its artists. When I am not walking the streets and discussing local culture, my background is rooted in a different field entirely; I studied economics and hold an MBA.
