Berlin
deen

I was born in Berlin just days before the Wall came down, and after studying economics in the UK and taking a gap year in Australia, I quickly realized office life was not for me. Instead, I decided to focus on what I actually enjoy doing: showing people around my hometown. I have been guiding with Walkative! since 2023, choosing to spend my days sharing the city's history rather than sitting at a desk. Whether we are discussing Prussian kings or the realities of the Cold War, I like helping visitors make sense of how Berlin has evolved.

While I cover the major historical eras on my tours, I am mostly drawn to Berlin's alternative and cultural landscape. Because I spend much of my free time at independent cinemas, skateparks, and art exhibitions, I am always glad to share recommendations for everything from local techno clubs to the ballet. When I am not guiding, I stay active by playing table tennis or kayaking on the Spree River in the summer. During the winter, you will likely find me at the Berlinale Film Festival, traveling, or following my rather specific hobby of German battlerap. I usually end my day at my favorite spot, the Rummelsburger Bucht near Lichtenberg, unwinding with a glass of prosecco instead of the stereotypical local beer.
