Maciej
I am Maciej, a historian with a master's degree from Jagiellonian University, and I have been showing people around with Walkative! since 2017. Born in Silesia, I eventually moved to Wroclaw from Krakow for my jazz trombone studies and quickly appreciated the city. I do not have a single favorite route because I find that all our tours complement each other well. What I enjoy most about guiding is having the chance to constantly learn by creating new thematic walks. Sharing history is important to me, as I agree with Cicero that knowing what happened before we were born is the only way to connect with the past.
Wroclaw is full of good energy, and I am continually fascinated by its beautiful market square, which makes every walk worthwhile regardless of the weather. When I am not guiding, you can often find me attending intimate jazz concerts, visiting the opera, or walking with my dog. I also play football, follow both Arsenal and Śląsk Wrocław, and admit to buying the latest FIFA video game every year. Aside from sports, I like reading historical novels or snacking on Swiss chocolate and paprika crisps. If you pay close attention during our time together, you might even catch me quoting Chandler from the show Friends.
