About the tour

Beyond the aroma of roasted coffee and the shadows of medieval spires, a new Lviv has emerged - one that breathes courage, carves paths for the brave, and proves that “unbroken” is more than just a word. This is not your typical sightseeing tour; it is an immersion into the soul of a city that witnesses war, navigates daily challenges, and yet continues to grow into one of Europe’s most vital cultural, humanitarian, and mental health hubs.
Since the full-scale invasion, Lviv has redefined itself. It is a city that doesn’t just survive; it adapts, innovates, and opens its arms. On this walk, we will explore how a historic UNESCO World Heritage site is transforming into a world-class center for rehabilitation and inclusion, and how every cobblestone now tells a story of resistance and solidarity.
We begin at the Ploshcha Anheliv (Angels square), where Lviv’s ancient history meets its present-day reality - serving as a sanctuary for soldiers and a testament to the city’s tireless volunteer spirit. We’ll talk about how Lviv’s experience of rehabilitation and healing is rebuilding lives from the ashes of war - from 3D-printed prosthetics to therapy through culture and art. Hear the defiant stories of our “Dark Winters” - you’ll learn how Lvivians transformed blackouts into moments of radical unity, keeping the lights on against all odds.
We will also discuss the new, profound ways of paying tribute to those who gave their lives for Ukraine. You will witness how Lvivians are establishing a culture of commemoration - where loss and grief are transformed into meaningful initiatives that honour our fallen.
We’ll step by a veteran-owned café, where every cup of coffee is a direct act of support for Ukrainian units serving on the front lines - showing how Ukrainians continue to support and uplift each other every single day in all possible methods. As in the midst of war, Lviv proves that our eyes are firmly fixed on a democratic, vibrant, and European future.
We will conclude the tour at Memorial of the Heroes of Ukraine on the so-called “Field of Mars” - the site of the Honoured Burials. Here, amidst the quiet dignity of our modern heroes, we will take a moment to honour their memory and ultimate sacrifice.
This is a charity-driven experience. All proceeds go directly to supporting local rehabilitation initiatives or specific military fundraisers.
