Here is what you can look forward to in the city this August:

🇺🇦 Days of Independence and Memory

This year, Ukraine observes its 35th Anniversary of Independence. On August 23 (National Flag Day) and August 24 (Independence Day), Lviv will host special events dedicated to those defending the country. These dates offer a time for reflection and a chance to witness how Ukrainians honor their history and independence.

🛍️ Weekend Fairs in the City Center

Visiting local markets is an excellent way to experience weekend life in Lviv. Make sure to check out these regular events:

🎶 Music, Art, and Culture

• August 8 – "Music Stories of Ukraine": This open-air event at the Shevchenkivskyi Hai museum features composer Mariia Yaremak and the INSO-Lviv Orchestra. The performance weaves traditional music through Ukraine's history and culture.
• Summer Evenings in the Metropolitan Gardens: On most weekends throughout the month, you can attend live music performances set in these historic gardens.
• Contemporary Art at ZAG Gallery: The gallery is currently hosting NASHI (OURS), an exhibition showcasing the work of contemporary Ukrainian artists.
