This walk through some of the city’s most atmospheric neighborhoods invites you to experience Madrid through its food, streets, and everyday rituals. Beginning near Plaza de San Miguel, we move through La Latina, Los Austrias, and Las Letras—districts where centuries of history meet the rhythm of local life.
Along the way, discover traditional taverns, old streets once shaped by merchants, writers, and travelers, and some of Madrid’s most beloved corners. Pass landmarks such as Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, Botín, Puerta Cerrada, Calle Huertas, Plaza de Santa Ana, and Teatro Español, while uncovering stories behind the neighborhoods that still define the city’s character.
At carefully chosen stops, taste classic Spanish flavors: mushrooms, Asturian-style chorizo slowly cooked in cider (or Padrón peppers), tender Iberian pork cheeks with creamy mashed potatoes, and sizzling gambas al ajillo served fresh and hot. Each tasting is paired with wine, beer, or soft drinks.
