Golden Hand… of the Devil – some can say it’s not just a strange monument and a spooky local story, but also, symbolically, the whole story of Bruges summed up. The city, a testament to the brilliance of the human mind, was touched by greatness and then suddenly thrown from the pedestal – just like the devil who seemingly blesses but actually curses you for eternity. Bruges is a home not only to grand beauty, but also many creepy and dark stories. Wandering along the canals of the city after dusk can be very romantic or simply… dangerous.Â
Do you want to meet lover ghosts, learn the stories of murder and intrigue? Or simply get the chance to find out more about Bruges history, the rise and fall of the mediaeval city and discover why it became one of the most important financial centres in the world during the Middle Ages? Join us for a night walk to see the exact place where money was changing hands back in those days, visit the old windmills, city gates and walls and much more.Â
Bruges provides a perfect setting for an evening walk and can be so appealing with its noir-style, evening locations. But it won’t be all so grim when you walk with us: besides the history and dark tales, we will also discuss crucial things like local beer, bars and nightlife. Now, you cannot say no!
On this 1,5 hours tour, you will see and discover:
We use Walkative a lot when we travel, and as with others tours we’ve done, this one didn’t disappoint.
Our guide, Martin, was welcoming, engaging and told us lots about Bruges. We’d done the Walkative ‘history’ tour the day before – but this tour takes you to a different part of the city, less touristy – you get a really different experience and I’d certainly recommend doing both if you can.
The only issue, Martin didn’t have our booking, so make sure you have a copy of your reservation with you!
